CONTINUING OUR EXAMINATION OF THE CALENDAR OF TODAY

In Genesis 1 we have read that all three elements – sun, moon, and stars (constellations) were put in place to regulate YHWH’s timepiece and calendar. If we can all agree that all the instructions set down by YHWH do not contradict each other, then we can continue unlearning the following subject –  The misconception of the continuous, unceasing week which we have been taught is separate from everything else on His calendar.

Keep in mind the saturation of the pagan, Roman calendar we grew up with. This perpetual march through the weeks came from there.  Remember, Sun god day, Moon god day, mars god day, Mercury god day, Jupiter god day, Venus god day, and Saturn god day.  And, in the beginning around 45BC Saturn was the first god of the pagan week until Constantine in 325 AD. So, what day did the Jews use?

I am going to walk slowly through the pattern of the continuous  week we have thought we were following as YHWH’s design.  First, we need to take a good look at the “idea” that YHWH set the creation week in place as the dominant and supreme piece of His calendar.  In the first place, the week was not the first timepiece set in place.  The first timepiece was the day.  The creation week is made up of individual days created one day at a time. The word “week” is not even used in Genesis 1.  In fact, the very first time this word is used is not until Genesis chapter 29.  This refers to the marriage  week of Jacob and Leah.

We have but one day at a time to live and even that is really more then we can count on.  Actually, the supreme amount of time we are allowed is the second.  There are approximately 60 heart beats per minute and around 20 breaths per minute.  Just stop the heart for 5 seconds and feel the effects on your body. Or stop breathing for a few minutes and life begins to pass by.

All facets and elements of time must be taken into consideration when keeping track of appointed times. We need to look at every one of Father’s instructions to see how time does fit together.

Time builds upon itself; starting with the smallest increment given to man to live in. Seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years.  The one “increment” that is the least mentioned in scripture is the week at 28 times.  The next in line is hour (moment, instant) at 115 times, followed by a month with 353 times, followed by a year mentioned 871 times and the majority of those is the generational births and deaths.  The final increment mentioned at a whopping 2,692 times is……..the day.

Let us just start with the calendar setup that is the center of this ‘perpetual week’ belief.

Here we can see the continuous week just like we think it has been from creation. I have 5 weeks in a row.  All looks pretty good and flowing nicely. Okay, let’s read some of the scriptures from the Word on the special days He wants us to observe. Let’s start with the month.

Exo 12:2: “This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you.

Exo 40:2: “On the first day of the first month you shall set up the tabernacle of the tent of meeting.

Num 28:11:‘At the beginnings of your months you shall present a burnt offering to the Lord: two young bulls, one ram, and seven lambs in their first year, without blemish;

Remember, YHWH’s month consists of no less than 29 days and no more than 30 days from sliver sighting to sliver sighting. This is found in Enoch.  The word “month” used in Hebrew refers to the moon, whether sliver or duration in days. The words moon and month are interchangeable. So, let’s use a month of just 29 days on the “creation week” model.  We will place New Moon Day, which is the first day of the month, on day 1 of the first week. Just to keep it easy to follow.

New moon day is the first day counted of the month.  The blue numbers are the month days counted and the black are the 6 workdays with the 7 in red for Sabbath day in the perpetual week model.  Everything seems to fit nicely.   So far, so good.

On this next chart above, we will add another month. So, we will have a total of nine weeks in a row. Remember, this is YHWH’s month we are setting on this ‘perpetual week’ calendar. He instructed this pattern of a month to keep track of the special days. All of His special days He wants us to celebrate are a certain day in a certain month He proclaims.  (Remember, month is moon in Hebrew – a month is a lunation period of 29 to 30 days).

Also remember, new moon day is day 1 in counting the days for that month or lunation period.  We are using only the 29-day count for simplicity right now.  On the evening at sundown on the 29^th the moon is sighted, and a new month starts the very next day. You see, the new sliver announces the start of a new month at the following daybreak.

Everything looks like it fits perfect according to what we know so far with YHWH’s instructions of counting the month.  Ok, let’s bring in another instruction by Father for specific days to be observed.

Eze 46:1: ‘Thus says the Lord God: “The gateway of the inner court that faces toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the Sabbath it shall be opened, and on the day of the New Moon it shall be opened.

Now YHWH is getting more specific.  Let’s add these instructions From Ezekiel 46 in the proper place on our calendar so far.  I will use an “O” for open and “S” for shut.

We are starting to see some problems with this calendar of perpetual 6 workdays and the sabbath.  New Moon Day (or the first day of the new month) HAS to be placed somewhere on one of the days and YHWH has instructed that day to have the gate open.

By following the order by YHWH in Ezekiel 46, You now have the dilemma of upsetting your 6 working days in a row status.  What do you do? Open the gate or shut it?  This is only one of YHWH’s orders.  Now, some would say “that is why your Lunar calendar is screwed up! It doesn’t follow the days right.”  Really?  Whose instructions are we trying to follow?  Wouldn’t He make sure they fit His true calendar?  I will now add another of Father’s instructions which affects the days on this calendar.

Lev 23:5: On the fourteenth dayof the first month at twilight is the Lord’s Passover. 6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the Lord; seven days you must eat unleavened bread. 7 On the first day you shall have a holy convocation; you shall do no customary work on it. 8 But you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord for seven days. The seventh day shall be a holy convocation; you shall do no customary work on it.’ “

Let’s use the month of Abib from the year 2020 as our model for the instructions in Lev.     

ABIB – 2020 March 26

New Moon Day landed on Thursday, March 26^th – the 5^th day of the perpetual week pattern.  The (P) is Passover night. The (UN – #) indicates the unleavened bread days and the bolded (UN-1) and (UN- 7) are the holy convocation days. The FF is first fruits day or the waving of the sheaf.

Now it starts getting very interesting. Look closely at what is happening here.  You now are dealing with 3 of the days that are supposed to be of the perpetual 6 workdays and then the Sabbath day to make up the “sovereign” creation week model, and YHWH has placed special commands on them.

You have New Moon Day right on the 5^th workday spot; again, causing the dilemma of “open gate” or “shut gate”. You then have a commanded non-workday on the 15^th day of the month, which lands on the 5^th workday of the week AND on the 21^st day of the month, which lands on the 4^th workday of the next week.  Now in this situation many start labeling extra sabbaths that do not land on the Saturday Sabbath as “high Sabbaths”.  There is nothing in YHWH’s instructions to do that.  Where did this idea come from?  John 19. 

Joh 19:31:  Therefore, because it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

That word in Greek is megas.  When you used to go to Easter services how was that Sunday looked at?  Special, important because Easter landed on it, big.  This is the same meaning for  “megas”.  Big, great, high.  Remember the translations tended toward the Catholic bend in many areas.  This was one.    This Sabbath was special because it came after Passover meal and started the week of unleavened bread.

Let’s try one more scenario with using this perpetual week calendar.  First remember that the instructions from YHWH are firm.  What He has said is His law.  YHWH said no work was to be done on His Sabbath. Okay, next, let us look at the attack on Jericho.

Jos 6:2: And the Lord said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor. 3 You shall march around the city, all you men of war; you shall go all around the city once. This you shall do six days. 4 And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. But the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets……6 Then Joshua the son of Nun called the priests and said to them, “Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the Lord.” 7 And he said to the people, “Proceed, and march around the city, and let him who is armed advance before the ark of the Lord.”

They marched around Jericho once for 6 days in a row.  On the 7^th day, they marched around Jericho 7 times then shouted, blew trumpets and the city fell down. (The marching and day to attack numbers are in green).  Right off the bat, we have a problem.  The command to keep the Sabbath holy has been violated!  They attacked on what is the Sabbath on this calendar. Even if you move the first marching day to another day, you still deal with the Sabbath in the mix of marching days in full armor which indicates to the enemy an aggressive position.  In the book  of Jasher chapter 88:14 it says they started the march on the first day of the month, or new moon day.

14 And it was in the second month, on the first day of the month, that the Lord said to Joshua, Rise up, behold I have given Jericho into thy hand with all the people thereof; and all your fighting men shall go round the city, once each day, thus shall you do for six days. 15 And the priests shall blow upon trumpets, and when you shall hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall give a great shouting, that the walls of the city shall fall down; all the people shall go up every man against his opponent. 16 And Joshua did so according to all that the Lord had commanded him. 17 And on the seventh day they went round the city seven times, and the priests blew upon trumpets.

Now, I am asking you to please bear with me here.  Let me put this on the calendar according to the new moon day NOT being a part of the workdays just as in Ezk 46.

On this chart the black numbers and red 7 is the perpetual unceasing calendar model. The blue nm and numbers top right are the days according to a lunar month with new moon day standing alone at the beginning. The brown numbers are the marching days.

You can observe that with the constant perpetual week, you end up fighting or marching in full armor on the Sabbath (red 7 top left in box).  This is against the instructions of YHWH.  However, IF you see that in Jasher they started the siege of the city on New Moon Day which is not one of the 6 workdays counted according to Ezk. 46, or the Sabbath day, they could march for 6 days and attack on the 7^th and THEN rest the following day which would be the Sabbath day.

You can see that it is not YHWH’s calendar that messes up the works, it is the “perpetual week” idea that does.  Father is not going to give instructions for His appointed days that contradict His calendar structure.

Remember, if you claim the creation week as the model we are to stay on, then that makes the 6 working days just as important to keep in place as the 7^th day rest.

Let us look a little further at the calendar set in place by YHWH from the beginning. His timepiece includes all three systems created on the fourth day. The sun – to regulate a day for working in. From sunrise to sun set.

The moon to announce the beginning of a new month and counting off that month’s days by its waxing and waning.

The stars help keep the cycle of a year by the sun’s revolution thru the constellations.  This is shown at Passover by the sun being in the constellation of Aries as spoken of by Josephus and the sun is in the constellation Virgo starting on New Moon Day (day of trumpets) of the 7^th month or Tishri as referred to in Revelations.

The moon on Father’s calendar is for His appointed times.  His month always has 4 Sabbath weeks.

Let’s look at Ezekiel 46 again.  I would like to show a very interesting set of instructions by YHWH.

Eze 46:1: ‘Thus says the Lord God: “The gateway of the inner court that faces toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the Sabbath it shall be opened, and on the day of the New Moon it shall be opened.

Ezekiel 46 is a fascinating chapter.  Right here in the first verse is where YHWH shows how His calendar keeps the 6 workdays the 7^th rest and new moon day (the first day of the new month) in constant running to keep track of His Sabbath weeks.  What do I mean?  Let us continue in Ezekiel.

Eze 46:2:The prince shall enter by way of the vestibule of the gateway from the outside, and stand by the gatepost. The priests shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings. He shall worship at the threshold of the gate. Then he shall go out, but the gate shall not be shut until evening. 3 Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the entrance to this gateway before the Lord on the Sabbaths and the New Moons…………

8 When the prince enters, he shall go in by way of the vestibule of the gateway, and go out the same way.

This is His perfect calendar templet, like a pendulum keeping the perfect beat of time and He made it an intricate part of His holy temple!  THE EASTERN GATE.

Now comes the amazing part.

Eze 46:9: “But when the people of the land come before the Lord on the appointed feast days, whoever enters by way of the north gate to worship shall go out by way of the south gate; and whoever enters by way of the south gate shall go out by way of the north gate. He shall not return by way of the gate through which he came, but shall go out through the opposite gate. 10 The prince shall then be in their midst. When they go in, he shall go in; and when they go out, he shall go out.

All the other appointed feasts will use the north and south gates to enter for worship.  You see, the gate that faces toward the east is in the constant mode of open for new moon day and Sabbath and shut for the other 6 workdays.  Thus, keeping the monthly calendar running smoothly in counting days of months starting with new moon (open), the working days (shut) and Sabbath (open).

The gate of the inner court that faces east keeps all YHWH’s undefiled Sabbath weeks in order.  What do I mean by undefiled Sabbath weeks?   Listen to Lev.23:15

Lev 23:15:  ‘And you shall count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering: seven Sabbaths shall be completed.

The word completed in the Hebrew means:  without blemish, whole, undefiled, perfect.  I have to ask – how do you not defile the seven Sabbaths?  By following the pattern Father set down at the eastern gate; 6 workdays, the sabbath and the new moon day.

The other appointed times do not affect the status of the timepiece – they just fit in where YHWH places them.  On those days, the north or south gates are used. The gate facing east always keeps the open or shut sequence. The basic days used for YHWH’s calendar timepiece are New Moon Day (open), the workdays (shut), and THE Sabbath (open).   The main timepiece YHWH deals with is the DAY.  And He places His appointed times on any one He chooses to put His signal fires in place for us to watch for events of the times we are in AND keep His calendar motion connected to His Temple as a huge timepiece of the heavens.

WRITINGS OF ABRAHAM       CHAPTER 29

WE journeyed slowly for the sake of the women and children and we journeyed not upon the Sabbath day nor upon any of the holy days, for we thought it better to worship the Lord our God according to the pattern of heaven than to proceed rapidly upon our way, and we did know that the Lord prospered us in our journey and protected us from the power of all our enemies because we did faithfully serve Him and worship before His throne according to the divine pattern.

This writing reveals that Abraham knew the appointed days of YHWH before the children of Israel came to the mountain of YHWH at Sinai.  He also understood the calendar YHWH created.  He called it “the pattern of heaven”.
