“He’s Got A Little Charisma” – President Trump Asked About Potential Reboot Of ‘The Apprentice’ Starring Family Member

Amazon is reportedly exploring a possible reboot of the Donald Trump-hosted reality competition show ‘The Apprentice’ for its Prime Video streaming service.

However, the reboot would feature Donald Trump Jr. as the host.

Variety explained further:

Amazon declined to comment, but told the newspaper that the show wasn’t in active development. An Amazon spokesperson told Variety: “Since our acquisition of MGM, we have had preliminary internal discussions about what’s next for The Apprentice as a property. The show is not in active development, and any reporting on details of the show or names of potential hosts would be purely speculative.” An insiders told Variety that there have not been “any discussions with anyone outside the company” about producing “The Apprentice” reboot.

If greenlighted, the new “Apprentice” would be the latest effort by Amazon to put the Trump family in the spotlight. In late January, Amazon released “Melania,” a documentary about First Lady Melania Trump, during the weeks leading up to her husband’s second presidential inauguration. Brett Ratner helmed the film, which was lambasted by critics, but it managed to break the record for best opening for a non-fiction feature in the last decade after debuting to $7 million domestically.

The WSJ cited Amazon MGM Studios head Mike Hopkins and other Amazon executives as spearheading the potential “Apprentice” revival, noting that Hopkins and company “began talking about the reboot idea internally early last year, around the time Trump was being sworn in for his second term, according to some of the people familiar with the talks.”

“What is your take on these reports that your show ‘The Apprentice’ is going to come back — could come back on Amazon with host Donald Trump Jr.?” Fox News reporter Steve Doocy asked Trump.

“Look, we had a great success 14 seasons and ‘The Apprentice’ was a tremendous success. So I’ve been hearing that you know a little bit. So we’ll see what happens,” Trump responded.

“He’s a good guy. He’d be probably good. He’s got a little charisma going. You need a little charisma for that sucker,” he continued.

Fox News has more:

“The Apprentice” first aired in 2004 with Trump as the host. He continued in that role until 2015, with various seasons and celebrity editions airing throughout that period. The series aired its final episode in 2017.

The reality TV series followed a group of contestants competing in business-related challenges for the chance to win a high-level job opportunity.

Trump’s son doesn’t have a history of reality television, but he has served as an executive vice president overseeing real estate development and acquisitions in the Trump business.

Don Jr. was also heavily involved in Trump’s presidential campaigns and administration, often acting as a surrogate and public advocate.

He has also authored books and maintains an active presence in media and public speaking.
