Georgia state Sen. Colton Moore, R-Trenton, has announced his campaign to fill the seat soon to be vacated by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).
Moore took office in January 2023 and represents “Senate District 53 — covering Catoosa, Walker, Chattooga and Dade counties, along with portions of Floyd County,” The Rome News-Tribune noted.
“I AM OFFICIALLY RUNNING FOR CONGRESS IN GEORGIA’S 14TH DISTRICT! The time for action is now!” Moore said on Monday.
The 32-year-old said he is:
- 100% Pro-Trump
- 100% Pro-Life
- 100% Pro-Gun
- Deport all illegals
- Cheap gas and groceries
“The RINOs kicked me out of the Republican Caucus for going after Fani Willis to investigate and defund her when no one else would,” Moore said in his campaign announcement video.

More from The Rome News-Tribune:
Moore framed his campaign as a continuation of his confrontational approach. “Every single time they came for me, we hit back harder, and we won,” he said.
The 14th District seat is expected to be open following U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s planned resignation in January.
Moore previously made headlines for getting banned from the state House chamber for allegedly criticizing late Georgia House Speaker David Ralston.

Breitbart provided further info:
Moore, 32, first won election to a state house seat in 2018 at the age of only 24. Georgia voters elected him to the state senate in 2022.
He quickly became the bane of the Georgia establishment.
Moore was exiled from the state house in March 2024 over his opposition to the chamber’s memorializing what he called a “corrupt” former state senator after reports indicated the late politician had used his office for financial gain. In January, establishment House Speaker Jon Burns directed police to arrest Moore after he attempted to attend the State of the State joint session.
Now he’s endeavoring to bring his anti-establishment bona fides to Washington.
“I’ve already gone toe to toe with the Georgia swamp and beat them,” Moore said in his statement. “I’m ready to do it again in Congress, every single day, with President Trump leading the charge.
