The report said Tehran did not provide the binding commitments sought by President Donald Trump regarding the future of Iran’s nuclear program or its enriched uranium reserves.

New reports from U.S., Lebanese, and regional media suggest Iran’s response to the latest American ceasefire proposal does not fully address key U.S. demands regarding Tehran’s nuclear program and stockpile of enriched uranium.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Iran’s proposal focuses primarily on ending the war and gradually reopening the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for lifting the U.S. naval blockade and easing sanctions.

The report said Tehran did not provide the binding commitments sought by President Donald Trump regarding the future of Iran’s nuclear program or its enriched uranium reserves. Instead, Iran reportedly proposed that nuclear issues be negotiated separately within 30 days.

Under the reported framework, Iran would agree to temporarily freeze uranium enrichment for a shorter period than the 20-year restriction demanded by Washington.

Tehran also reportedly offered to dilute part of its enriched uranium stockpile and transfer the remainder to a third country, while insisting the material be returned if talks collapse or if the U.S. withdraws from the agreement in the future.

An Iranian official told Al Jazeera that Tehran’s response was delivered in a “positive and realistic” manner, adding that it focuses on “ending the war on all fronts, especially Lebanon,” alongside resolving disputes with Washington.

According to the official, the proposal also includes discussions over the Strait of Hormuz and the full removal of sanctions.

Lebanese outlet Al Mayadeen reported that Iran is demanding sanctions relief, the release of frozen funds, and an immediate end to the war as part of any agreement with the United States. The report added that Tehran considers a ceasefire in Lebanon a “red line.”

The developments come as diplomatic activity intensifies behind the scenes. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with President Donald Trump following the latest reports surrounding Iran’s response and the ongoing negotiations.
