A statue honoring Charlie Kirk standing outside the Turning Point USA headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona, was vandalized with red paint.
The statue was unveiled on September 10, one year after Kirk’s assassination in Utah.

Fox News shared further:
Images from the scene show red paint streaked across the eight-foot statue’s face and neck, with a crude frowning face drawn across its chest.
A sign at the base of the statue bearing Kirk’s image and the words “Jesus defeated death so you can live” was also targeted. The word “Jesus” and an image of a cross appeared to be crossed out, while “Satan” was apparently scrawled across the display.
Kirk’s widow, Erika, who now serves as Turning Point USA CEO, responded with a defiant vow to rebuild, saying the vandals would not erase her husband’s legacy or silence Christians.
“Charlie once said we should be building two statues for every statue that they tear down,” Erika Kirk wrote, adding that her husband’s instinct was always to create rather than destroy.
She said the bullet that killed her husband only amplified his voice and predicted the spray paint would spread his legacy even further. She also vowed to restore the statue, replace Jesus Christ’s name on the damaged sign and continue the movement her husband built.
“God will not be mocked,” Erika Kirk wrote.
“We’ll put His name right back where it belongs, clean up the mess, restore Charlie’s statue, and keep building. We will never give up and never surrender,” Erika Kirk added.
“We will restore the statue and replace the signs, but we are also reviewing the footage of the incident and are working with law enforcement to identify who did this and hold them accountable,” Turning Point USA wrote.
“But vandalism like this is not funny, it’s diabolical. The incident happened in the middle of the night because evil never sleeps. Beyond spray painting on the neck and face, they made the intentional decision to cross out the name of Jesus on a nearby sign,” it added.

They thought a bullet would silence my husband’s voice but it only made it louder. They think spray paint can obscure his legacy, but it… https://t.co/nfMlpsSwKd

More from The Arizona Republic:
Mesa resident Kyle Elliott said he had driven past the statue several times in the past week, including the night before. As of 5:30 p.m. Sept. 12, he said the statue was untouched.
“This is, it’s a tragedy,” Elliott said.
He pointed out the paint on Kirk’s neck and that the name “Jesus” appeared to be almost fully blotted-out by paint.
“Charlie, he was non-violent, and he suffered violence,” Elliott said.
“He didn’t even cuss,” chimed in Jason Agan, another Mesa resident standing nearby.
Agan said the vandalism didn’t appear to be random.
“They knew what they were doing,” Agan said.
Both Agan and Elliott spoke to an increasing political polarization, which Elliott said he believed could intensify after the incident. Agan, who attended a 2025 memorial following Kirk’s death, said his initial thought seeing the statue outside of the Turning Point fence was that it could be vulnerable to vandalism.
“Man, someone’s gonna get it,” he recalled thinking.
