If you are not having a very jolly Christmas Eve, then this is sure to put a smile on your face.

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump on Christmas Eve upheld a longstanding tradition of the U.S. President giving NORAD Santa tracker updates to children.

One child asked Trump why NORAD is tracking Santa, and in response, Trump shared it’s because he wants to make sure a bad Santa is not infiltrating teh country.

The Daily Mail reported on Trump’s entire hilarious call:

Even Christmas Eve calls with children were not left free of President Trump’s politics as he joked about his immigration agenda on Wednesday afternoon.

President Trump took calls from children across America as he participated in tracking Santa Claus’ movements with the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Santa Tracker on Christmas Eve.

Speaking with a sibling duo from Oklahoma, Trump promised that no ‘bad Santas’ were going to get into the United States.

We want to make sure that Santa is made good. Santa is a very good person. We want to make sure that he’s not infiltrated yet,’ Trump told the young callers.

‘We’re not infiltrating into our country a bad Santa. So we found out that Santa is good. Santa loves you,’ the president continued.

‘Santa loves Oklahoma, like I do. You know, Oklahoma was very good to me in the election, so I love Oklahoma,’ Trump continued.

Throughout the slew of conversations, Trump brought up his electoral victories in the states that callers were from, including Pennsylvania, which he ‘won actually, three times.’

One child told Trump that she would not like to receive any coal on Christmas, to which the President urged her to ‘please remember at all costs’ that coal is ‘clean and beautiful.’

Here’s the history behind NORAD tracking santa:

24 hours a day, 365 days a year, NORAD tracks everything that flies in and around North America in defense of our homelands. On Dec. 24, we have the very special mission of also tracking Santa.

NORAD has been tracking Santa since 1955 when a young child accidently dialed the unlisted phone number of the Continental Air Defense Command (CONAD) Operations Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, believing she was calling Santa Claus after seeing a promotion in a local newspaper.

Air Force Colonel Harry Shoup, the commander on duty that night, was quick to realize a mistake had been made, and assured the youngster that CONAD would guarantee Santa a safe journey from the North Pole.

Thus a tradition was born that rolled over to NORAD when it was formed in 1958. Each year since, NORAD has dutifully reported Santa’s location on Dec. 24 to millions across the globe.

Thanks to the services and resources generously provided by numerous corporate contributors and volunteers, NORAD Tracks Santa has persevered for more than 60 years.
