Despite the losses, Hezbollah has maintained a steady rate of attacks, launching around 100 rockets or drones toward Israel each day, according to the IDF.

The Israeli military said Sunday it has eliminated between 85% and 90% of Hezbollah’s pre-2023 rocket arsenal, though the Lebanese group continues to launch large numbers of rockets and drones toward Israel, The Jerusalem Post reported.

According to the IDF, Hezbollah possessed more than 150,000 rockets before the war.

By the time a ceasefire took effect in November 2024, Israeli operations had already destroyed about 70% to 80% of those weapons.

Military officials said roughly 30,000 rockets remained later in 2025.

Since then, continued Israeli strikes — and especially intensified fighting after Hezbollah entered the war on March 2 — have reduced the estimated number to between 10,000 and 23,000 rockets.

Despite the losses, Hezbollah has maintained a steady rate of attacks, launching around 100 rockets or drones toward Israel each day, according to the IDF.

On March 11, the group carried out one of its largest recent barrages, firing nearly 200 projectiles.

Israeli officials said the attack was smaller than originally planned. Hezbollah had intended to launch approximately 600 rockets during that strike, but Israeli operations disrupted the plan.

Even so, the barrage caused more physical damage in northern Israel than expected and heightened concerns among residents about their ability to remain in their communities if the conflict continues for an extended period.

Israeli authorities have pledged to maintain enough security so that civilians in northern communities will not need to evacuate as they did during Hezbollah attacks in October 2023.

Hezbollah also retains about 1,000 long-range precision-guided rockets, according to the military.

To counter the threat, the IDF has deployed five divisions to southern Lebanon and has pushed Divisions 91 and 36 further into Lebanese territory during ongoing operations.

More than 350 Hezbollah fighters have been killed, including many senior commanders and about one-third who belonged to the Radwan special forces unit, the IDF said.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir said last week that the conflicts involving Iran and Lebanon had become comparable theaters of war. However, the military said Sunday that Iran remains the primary front while Lebanon continues as a secondary arena.

Israeli officials also said the United States supports Israel’s firm stance against Hezbollah, including continued airstrikes in Beirut’s Dahiya neighborhood, the group’s stronghold.
